TubeDimmer add-on recently became very “popular” as it came bundled with free soft, especially CNET Downloader – useless software that CNET uses just for purpose to download this or that program and show partner offers. TubeDimmer claims to enhance your online video watching experience – for example it can make the background of YouTube dark so that video look more contrast. Not a big deal. But what it was really developed for is showing extra ads and coupons on shopping and search sites.

As usual I installed TubeDimmer on my PC and scanned it with Norton and MalwareBytes. Spyhunter successfully was able to remove nearly all registry keys and files and after reboot my browsers (Chrome. Firefox, IE11) were clean. MalwareBytes found less items but still it is a good solution to remove TubeDimmer.

However, you can also remove extensions from you browser manually:

1) To remove from Internet Explorer (10, 11) just find TubeDimmer in Programs and Features in Control Panel
2) To remove from Google Chrome type in browser: chrome://extensions/ find TubeDimmer and click on recycle bin icon.
3) To remove from Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions (or Firefox -> Extensions) and click Remove button near TubeDimmer.

Generally you can use Spyhunter, Malwarebytes and Avast Browser Cleanup to remove TubeDimmer browser add-on. However for manual removal here is the list of main files, folders and registry keys that you can find and remove.
