Windows XP:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Control Panel.
  3. Then click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Find Stack Player.
  5. Click Uninstall.

  4. Find Stack Player and click Uninstall.

Windows 8/Windows 8.1:

  1. Open the Menu.
  2. Click Search.
  3. After that click Apps.
  4. Then Control Panel.
  5. Then as in Windows 7, click Uninstall a Program under Programs.
  6. Find Stack Player, select it and click Uninstall.

Windows 10:

  1. Click on the Start button (or press the Windows key) to open the Start menu, click on the Settings at the top.
  2. Click on App & features on the left menu.
  3. On the right side, locate Stack Player and click it, then click on the Uninstall button.
  4. Click on Uninstall to confirm.

Note: If you can’t find required program, sort programs by date in Control panel and search for last installed programs.

Stack Player won’t uninstall

There are certain cases, when users cannot uninstall Stack Player normally, using standard Windows features in Control Panel. When users click Uninstall button they see message: “You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Stack Player. Please, contact your system administrator.” This happens because some process of Stack Player prevent attempts to uninstall it. In order to uninstall it, use Safe Mode:

For Windows XP, Vista, 7

  1. Turn off your computer;
  2. Turn it on and immediately start typing F8 button;
  3. This will open Advanced Boot Options menu;
  4. Choose Safe Mode with arrow buttons;
  5. In Safe Mode go to Control Panel and Uninstall a program and remove “Stack Player”.

For Windows 8/8.1 and 10

  1. Press the Win+R keys, type msconfig in box and press Enter;
  2. Switch to Boot tab, and click on Safe Boot check box;
  3. Choose the type of Safe Mode: Minimal or Network;
  4. Click OK and restart your PC;
  5. In Safe Mode go to Control Panel and Uninstall a program and remove “Stack Player”.

After that remove Stack Player related extensions from your browsers.

Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Push Alt + F.
  3. Click Tools.
  4. Choose Extensions.
  5. Find Stack Player.
  6. Click the trash can icon to remove it.

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Push Shift + Ctrl + A.
  3. Choose Stack Player.
  4. Click Disable or Remove button.

Internet Explorer:

  1. Open IE.
  2. Push Alt + T.
  3. Click Manage Add-ons.
  4. Select Toolbars and Extensions.
  5. Click Disable Stack Player.
  6. Click More information link in the left-bottom corner.
  7. Click Remove button.
  8. If this button is grayed out – perform alternative steps.

Remove following registry entries:

Value: Stack Player
Data: “C:\Program Files\StackPlayer\StackPlayer.exe” /autostart=1

Then remove following files:


StackPlayer.exe
StackPlayer.dll

And following folders


C:\Program Files\StackPlayer
C:\Program Files (x86)\StackPlayer

  1. For this problem, use Spy Hunter 4
    I normally use malwarebytes and after several scans, it did not detect Stack Player. After first scan with SpyHunter, it detected all instances almost immediately

  2. If I try to uninstall in the control panel , it takes a while then says “Do you want the following program to update on this computer” , I don’t want to click Yes

  3. I tried it in safe mode but it gives me a message stating “the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.” It don’t say that when I’m not in safe mode.

  4. Will not uninstall. Ask if I want to allow the following program to update on computer and I have checked “No” so it does not uninstall. Need help to uninstall this program. I
