What is MyWebFace?
MyWebFace is a suspicious browser extension from Mindspark Interactive that redirects all your searches to https://hp.myway.com/ or https://search.myway.com. Even if it might look similar to an ordinary search engine like Google or Yahoo, yet is not trustworthy. This extension features the traits which are typical of the type of malware called “browser hijacker”. Simply put, a browser hijacker can penetrate the system and compromise browser’s settings without the user noticing. Since then, it takes up the homepage, new tab and search engine of your browser. The sole reason why the malware makes these changes are clear – it aims to show search results that are favorable for its developers. However, it’s not clear how safe is the promotional content, so you put system security at risk every time you click on links provided by this questionable search engine. Therefore, we urge you to remove MyWebFace for your own safety.
How MyWebFace gets on your device?
Most of the viruses hidden come on PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad by malicious emails, network attacks, malware sites, or with other freeware software. Few are closely watching the installation process, and sometimes do not know that their device is at risk. We recommend to read the user agreement and don’t press “Next” button once. Make sure that the program is safe. Select advanced installation type. Remember that there are many similar programs on the Internet.
