What is Geek Squad?
Actually, Geek Squad is a legitimate subsidiary of Best Buy (a well-known electronics store). Knowing that fraudsters misuse its name to steal money from unsuspecting users. This scam is distributed via email as a legitimate message stating that you need to call them in order to cancel insurance or order, otherwise, you will be charged a fee. In other cases, scammers try to trick users into downloading, to put it mildly, questionable software capable to set your computer security at risk. Remember, this email has nothing to do with real Geek Squad, so you need to ignore this message. Nonetheless, we recommend you install an antimalware tool to prevent virus infiltration from spreading by scammers.

Try MailWasher
Email security is the first line of defense against ransomware viruses. To do this, we recommend that you use MailWasher. MailWasher blocks ransomware viruses coming through spam and phishing, and automatically detects malicious attachments and URLs. In addition, malicious messages can be blocked even before the recipient opens them. Since the main source of the spread of ransomware viruses are infected emails, antispam significantly reduces the risk of a virus appearing on your computer.
