What is ContentStyles?
ContentStyles is another adware that can infiltrate your computer via fake Adobe updates or software bundles. It is used for advertising purposes and link promotion. As a result, countless annoying pop-up ads that will appear from time to time while browsing the Internet. One of the signs of its infiltration is a pop-up stating that Apple wants to make changes and requests your password. If you click “Cancel” button, you will see a new pop-up: “installation complete” with the only choice is to click “OK”.
ContentStyles can also change homepage, new tab page or default search engine of a browser and take measures to prevent users from changing those settings back. Hence, we advise you to get rid of ContentStyles as soon as possible.
How ContentStyles gets on your Mac?
Usually, ContentStyles appears on users’ Macbooks after users get redirected to rogue sites claiming that an Adobe Flash Player update needs to be installed, and end up installing it. Alternative solution. Step 1: Remove ContentStyles from Mac
ContentStyles may not have the app associated with it in Applications. However, we recommend you to inspect the list of installed applications and remove unknown or suspicious ones. Look for ContentStyles or ContentStyles.app.
Mac OSX:
- Open Finder
- In the Finder sidebar, click Applications
- If you see Uninstall ContentStyles or ContentStyles Uninstaller, double-click it and follow instructions
- Drag unwanted application ContentStyles from the Applications folder to the Trash (located on the right side of the Dock)

Step 2: Remove Admin Preferences from Mac
- Open System Preferences.
- Click on Profiles.
- Click on AdminPrefs on the left panel.
- Click the minus button below to delete rogue settings.
Step 3: Remove ContentStyles from browsers
Safari:
- Open Safari
- Click Safari menu.
- Choose Extensions.
- Find ContentStyles or other suspicious extensions.
- Click Uninstall button to remove it.

Step 4: Resetting your browser search and homepage settings
