What is lkysearch?

lkysearch – a browser hijacker that can take over your browser and redirect you to Yahoo search engine. This is the result of a rogue application that usually comes bundled with other free programs you might download off of the Internet. There are many similar apps, the distinguishing sign of which is the icon – a green circle with a magnifying glass in the middle: MainSearchPlatform, DicroveryEngine 1.0, OutputData, DynamicPanel, ProductEvent.app, etc. Therefore, first of all, you should check your system for unknown applications you don’t remember installing them. This hijacker corrupts the configuration of the browser so you have no choice but to use lkysearch as your default search engine. Alternative solution. Step 1: Remove lkysearch from Mac

lkysearch may not have the app associated with it in Applications. However, we recommend you to inspect the list of installed applications and remove unknown or suspicious ones. Look for lkysearch or lkysearch.app.

Mac OSX:

1. Open Finder
2. In the Finder sidebar, click Applications
3. If you see Uninstall lkysearch or lkysearch Uninstaller, double-click it and follow instructions
4. Drag unwanted application lkysearch from the Applications folder to the Trash (located on the right side of the Dock)

Step 2: Remove Admin Preferences from Mac

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on Profiles.
3. Click on AdminPrefs on the left panel.
4. Click the minus button below to delete rogue settings.

Step 3: Remove lkysearch from browsers

Safari:

1. Open Safari
2. Click Safari menu.
3. Choose Extensions.
4. Find lkysearch or other suspicious extensions.
5. Click Uninstall button to remove it.

Step 4: Resetting your browser search and homepage settings

3. Choose Reset Safari….
