What is Any Search?

Any Search is a browser hijacker that emits a large amount of spam on all sites and prevents you from traveling peacefully around the Internet. Recently, there are a lot of such programs, as Internet advertising is constantly gaining momentum. We know that advertising can be both useful and malicious. The browser hijacker not only generates spam but can also redirect the user to malicious sites. Once installed, it changes the homepage of your browser and the default search engine, replacing them with Search.anysearch.net or anysearchmanager.net pages. These pages often look almost like famous search engines, because hackers try to copy the design of Google, Yahoo and so on. Seeing the familiar design and logo, the user does not think that this website can be dangerous, and boldly clicks on the links, opening the gate to other malware. Thus, we advise you to remove Any Search from your Mac immediately.

How Any Search gets on your Mac?

Usually, Any Search appears on users’ Macbooks after users get redirected to rogue sites claiming that an Adobe Flash Player update needs to be installed, and end up installing it. As a result, several pieces of adware, malware and potentially unwanted software, including Any Search, get installed on their Macs. Other ways for Any Search and other browser hijackers to end up on users’ machines are users installing free software and not opting out of extra programs that are also offered for installation, or users opening files downloaded from shady websites. Alternative solution. Step 1: Remove Any Search from Mac

Any Search may not have the app associated with it in Applications. However, we recommend you to inspect the list of installed applications and remove unknown or suspicious ones. Look for Any Search or Any Search.app.

Mac OSX:

1. Open Finder
2. In the Finder sidebar, click Applications
3. If you see Uninstall Any Search or Any Search Uninstaller, double-click it and follow instructions
4. Drag unwanted application Any Search from the Applications folder to the Trash (located on the right side of the Dock)

Step 2: Remove malicious entries from Profiles (Mac)

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on Profiles.
3. Click on unsigned and suspicious profiles on the left panel.
4. Click the minus button below to delete rogue settings.

Step 3: Remove Any Search from browsers

Safari:

1. Open Safari
2. Click Safari menu.
3. Choose Extensions.
4. Find Any Search or other suspicious extensions.
5. Click Uninstall button to remove it.
