Uninstall a program in Windows 10
There are now a couple of methods to uninstall a program: one is similar to previous versions of Windows (XP, 7, 8), other is new, but simple. You should know that beginning from Windows 8, there are two types of programs – Windows Apps and Programs. Both types can be removed from your system manually, although Windows Apps don’t take much space and can be useful if used correctly. For easier and thorough uninstall we recommend you several programs:
Revo Uninstaller Pro – most powerful and famous uninstaller, can find leftover files, folders, registry keys etc. Has a lot of useful tools to perform regular maintenance of your operating system. It also can uninstall programs with broken uninstallers with special “Forced Uninstall” feature. Also has less functional free version.
Uninstall a program manually
Here is new way to uninstall a program in Windows 10:
- Left-click on the Start button.
- In the Menu choose Settings and click on it.
- In opened window choose System box and click on it
- In System settings choose Apps & features tab.
- In the list find an unwanted program (the program you want to uninstall) and click on it.
- Click Uninstall button and this will run standard uninstaller.
Note: From our own testing, it turned out that removing apps using the built-in Windows 11 options still carries the risk of leaving behind the remaining folders, files and registry entries. If you want to prevent this from happening, you still need to use a third-party uninstaller.
There are many third-party removal programs that can do the job, but we recommend using the following one as it has already been updated for Windows 11:
Try CleanMyPC
With CleanMyPC Multi Uninstaller, you get rid of several apps at a time along with all their leftovers that are typically overlooked. Just make your choice and be sure Multi Uninstaller will leave no traces of unneeded apps.
That’s all. Looking forward to your suggestions and comments in the comment box below. Hope this guide was useful.
